The first Saturday of June also brings back the man who started things off in 2008 for Plug. As the bells chimed midnight on January 1st, there was only one man capable of delivering the goods to bring 2008 in. A DJ whose genre defying genius has ensured rock kids salivate over his presence just as much as the wide eyed rave warriors, scattering frenetic techno beats sideways through rock n roll riffs. It's time for Erol Alkan to return.

A true twenty first century icon, Erol has literally tore through the consensus since the decade begun. Arriving in clubland at a point where the bubble had truly burst, he represented the new school whose dismantling of the staid tactics of the old guard ensured dance music gained new momentum. Gone was the age of DJs playing for themselves and telling the crowd what they should listen, it was now all about intuitively delivering a toxic mixture of music that followed the party much more than any form of ego.

And he's still doing it. His devotees wear t-shirts bestowing his brilliance, whilst dancing frantically with swaying jaws as his DJ pyrotechnics ensure pandemonium amongst the revellers of each club, festival, warehouse or squat party he graces. Few have the ability to unite the youth and the chin-stroking elders of dance with such aplomb, but he does it with ease. Plug welcomes back one of its biggest stars for another huge event, Erol the pinnacle of their vision of Saturday night.

Support comes from three of Plug's most veritable rave veterans, turbo behemoth LJ freeman alongside the scattershot genre genius of Tom Lee and Dan Norris.
