/// Benjamin Francis Leftwich
Benjamin Francis Leftwich (Ben to his friends) first came to the attention of Plug when his band, The Nicoles, took to the stage for Best of The Bands at York's Grand Opera House.
The Nicoles' own take on drone rock, with repetitive lyrics and catchy tunes earned them quite a following before 19 year old Ben decided to go it alone.
Ben's solo music, compared to Jose Gonzalez and Jack Johnson is certainly attracting attention. Most recently he's been working with producer Ian Grimble (Manic Street Preachers, Travis, Texas) on his new EP, sharing the studios with David Gray.
His songwriting has also already achieved a measure of success; Hold Your Hands Up by pop dance act Cascada was co-written by Ben and fellow North Yorkshire song writer Alistair Griffin.

But it's writing and performing his own music, his way that's providing his greatest motivation at the moment.
Ben has been writing music for years as well as performing in most of the UK major cities earning himself a dedicated following of both fellow musicians and music lovers.
This promising musical talent has been well supported across North Yorkshire, at acoustic nights in Ben's home town of York and also at some of the Ryedale Live nights further afield.
Everyone seems to agree it's just a matter of time before Benjamin Francis Leftwich is a name a lot of people will know.
