PGM Takeover Presents :
/// PLAYGROUND MAFIA headling Plug Main Stage
14+, £6 entry, plus free entry to following COVERT Clubnite for 18+
Going from strength to strength PLAYGROUND MAFIA played a blinder on the recent Tramlines Hallam FM Main Stage to 8,000 revellers. The Mafia’s brand of electro dance music has become a little smoother on the ear since Elisha Jay came on board in late 2009 to share vocals with founder Matt, but their booming beats are guaranteed to get the place bouncing. Add in Andy’s edgy riffs and its no wonder record label heads are turning their way.
After serving their apprenticeship with support slots to Eric Prydz, Wiley, Tinchy Stryder, Skepta, Mongrel, Delphic, Prof Green etc the Mafia will step into the limelight again to reprise their amazing gig at Plug last February, but this one will be even bigger.
/// STRIPEY JACK
Support comes from rising stars STRIPEY JACK, a late addition but they played a blinder at their last Plug main stage gig in February. A five piece indie with Ryan's vocals, fronting the line up, duelling with Matt's lead guitar licks. Great to have them on baord
/// SEARCHING 4 EVIDENCE
In the same league but several years their junior, SEARCHING 4 EVIDENCE have caught the eye of ace producer Elliot Kennedy after one of their many competitions successes, culminating in their working with Eliot at his famous Steelworks Studio. S4E have played many high profile gigs and despite their tender years their version of melodic indie rocks has fans crying out for more.
/// MJAY
Nicknamed Prince Of The Ghetto rising star MJay delivers his acclaimed blend of R&B / Hip Hop. After much radio play his relationship with producer RC (Ryan Cropper) have resulted a debut album to be released the weekend of the gig. When coupled with MJay celebrating his birthday on the day of the gig its going to be a weekend to remember !
/// WEIMAR
Opening proceedings, Weimar are a quartet formed early in 2010, whose fusiing of saxophone with rock / alternative music produces a remarkable experimental sound. Fronted by guitarist and vocalist Jim they have a quickly growing fanbase so get in early to catch em.
/// Q SHIP
Another young band whose alternate rock sound stands them out from the crowd, with Danton's booming drums and charismatic front man Tom doing the biz on the vocals, they turn heads wherever they play.
To top all this DMK is hitting the decks. After playing at the Playground Mafia Headliner at Plug in Feb 2010 DMK has recently had a residency at Embrace (Pandamonium) where he DJed nights where both Skepta and Professor Green performanced. He's also played at bars like Static, Bedroom and recently Corporation (Tramlines).
Big vibes from DMK guranteed !
