/// The Plight

The Plight are a hardcore band from Leeds. Signed to Visible Noise Records these guys know how to bring the noise. As if the hardcore way, they're a hard-working bunch and have toured the UK extensively including tours with like minded types Gallows and Converge.

"Winds of Osiris" is raw, rockin' and executed with true class - 9/10 Rocksound Magazine

"The Plight sound utterly, thrillingly fresh on this truly brilliant debut" - 4/5 KERRANG!!!

"Clean the wax out of your ears, make your hair real big and get the air guitar ready: The Plight is bringing the noise and it’s a damn fine racket." - 4/5 Punktastic.com

/// Bleaklow

"a mix of prominent basslines, textured guitars that span the gamut of the 'post' genres, Bleaklow make music that's stirring"
Rock Sound Magazine

"their soundscapes are elevated by plentiful tapped guitars and thundered out to hypnotic effect"
Forge Press Online

"a great little EP, demonstrating the considerable talents of the Sheffield three. Bleaklow have something really great going on here"
Altsounds.com

"an incredibly huge and diverse sound, with layers so deep and intricate it’s hard to believe that such a sound is coming from just a guitar and a bass"
New Beats 4 U

"whilst Bleaklow craft the majority of their art with their influences forefront in their minds, they are distant enough to step out from the shadows into the light."
Die Shellsuit, Die!

/// Naisian

I always find support bands intriguing for the simple fact that for every ten instantly forgettable support acts, there will be one which displays something special, and without doubt Naisian were one of these bands, utterly eclipsing the second support band Chickenhawk (who were disappointingly generic and seemed to rip of Sepultura’s classic Roots Bloody Roots).

The performance itself was fantastic and despite a few tech problems with amp settings and pedal boards, the band was tight and the music was of a calibre you would expect of a much more established band. Indeed it was clear that the members of this four piece are highly talented individuals.

The music itself is incredibly moody and emotive, ranging from mellow, spacey sections of pure prog to ear busting, yet creative and imaginative metal. It’s awesome to see metal bands attempting to break the mould and move away from the generic metal blue-print created by bands such as Metallica and Machine Head, no disrespect intended of course, but for metal to survive it must evolve, and bands such as Naisian are part of that evolution, continuing what bands such as Isis and Neurosis started.

/// Below The Ocean

Hailing from mighty Steel City of Sheffield, the Death/Metalcore five piece are the new kids on the block in the metal scene and are tipped to be the next Bring Me The Horizon!

The band completed their EP ‘A Thousand Tides Between Us’ on the 1st of January 2010 and it is soon to be posted on their MySpace page.

Not a lot is known about the band, for instance their influences and how the band got together, but one thing is for sure they have the sound that could make it big.

The EP consists of heavy riffs and break downs, accompanied by deathcore screams and growls. When these are added to the pounding, fast paced drum beat it’s clear Below The Ocean know what they want and where they’re going! This album is enough to get any metal fan’s heads moving.
