This Saturday it's all about one woman as Plug witnesses the return of Kate Lawler once more. Whilst she may have sprung into public attention via a certain TV show, Kate has now well and truly claimed a position in the dance music fraternity simply on account of the old fashioned combo of hard work and sheer talent. With a clutch of gigs at the world finest dance emporiums and a burgeoning production career now full under swing, it's a trajectory she is showing no signs of relenting.

Her first break was securing a residency at Sankeys, where her initial dirty house style quickly became more rounded and diverse as she adopted the darker strains of the underground that Sankeys showcased weekly. Playing alongside some of her heroes, she was soon picking up gigs at like-minded clubs across the country, Kissdafunk in leeds, Ibiza's Judgement Sundays and Barcelona's Sonar festival, acquiring a heady following along the way.

More recently its been her talent behind the boards that has shone through too, a brace of tracks alongside masterminds Mark Knight and Funkagenda hinting at an illustrious future in production. Translating the same collage of influences that pepper her DJ sets into sonic weapons aimed at the clubbing fraternity, she's already showing the same signs of rapid success that have so far characterised her career.

And support for Kate on the night comes from a further bevy of starlets. Her dirty house grooves and off kilter electronica is matched by Charged honchos Funk Junkies and the Kissdafunk impresario Drew Scott. As ever room two sees the fun side of alternative and indie anthem with Peeky, Tom Lee and Dan Norris ensuring there's an alternate atmosphere to Lawler's cheery hedonism.
