It's that boy Slim Again! The new poster boy of UK House music, Bomb Squad records boss and general all round man about town is back in Sheffield. One of the biggest draws at Shuffle, the steel city's house cognoscenti love Mickey, and it's not hard to see why. One of the finest exponents of filth laden house music the country has ever seen, he's been building a career in a ridiculously short space of time, carving out his own niche in an oversaturated market. It was only 2005 when he burst onto the scene, three whirlwind years which show no sign of relenting for the boy yet.

Recently he's been fusing his sound with a wider ranging template of influences, mixing up crunked out baille funk monster versions of House of Pain's ‘Jump Around' and Onyx's ‘Slam' and adding a rowdy edge to his previous groove heavy beats. His bookings have also taken off, playing at Global Gathering both in this country and St Petersburg, Russia, plus a regular array of Judgement Sunday parties at other heavyweight UK institutions like Kissdafunk and of course Shuffle! A mere whisker away form global domination and lengthy superstardom, Slim is here to stay and outliving his own considerable hype.

Support on the night comes in the form of LJ Freeman and Dan Norris, who compliment Mickey's rough and ready hedonism with their gilt-edged house beats. Peeky and Tom lee ensure the indie room is equally as pumping with their kaleidoscopic range of alternative anthems.
