If theirs one underlying theme at this Saturday's gig, it's the unadulterated Filth. House music has taken a turn for the dirty in the last few years, and is all the better for it. A genre once dominated by rolling basslines and wailing divas, now it's littered with huge synth riffs, murky beats and a sex drenched manifesto. Jack's got his clothes dirty.

The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of NiggyTardust! is the lovechild of me and Trent Reznor. I met Trent when he asked me to fill the opening slot of his European With Teeth tour. After only the 2nd show he asked if I might be down to collaborate on a song or album, whatever I saw fit.

Bison are in fact a nine- or ten-piece, horns-front, hoof-stomping party beast who specialise in putting big cheesy grins on faces and getting some serious movement out of knees and, for want of a better word, 'booty'. They have a sense of humour and perspective, a love of pop music of all kinds, and minds of their own.

Sheffield has always been at the heart of the bassline scene. Whilst the country turned its back on UK Garage at the turn of the nineties there were certain hotspots that refused to let it die. Along with Birmingham and certain suburbs of the capital, the Steel City was representing week in week out for those who still loved their dance music infused with that little more bass alongside the vocals.

Uprising is one heck of a rave. Thirteen years in the business and still going strong, they sure know how to party. A period of time that has seen some of the most intense lunacy known to mankind, a gleeful hedonistic appetite that would revile Hunter S Thompson and a brutal music policy which leaves no prisoners, it's no wonder the party continues to grab attention across the globe.

And what exactly is their secret? Well, followin
