Twisted Vs The Afterparty with Jason Herd + Domski + Lj Freeman + Bongo Dave + Tom Lee
It's time for twisted to return and this time they're facing off with the irrepressible afterparty boys. Huddersfield's Kings of the post 2am rave, the afterparty has been giving west Yorkshire somewhere else other than Leeds to burn the midnight oil in and we've decided to bring them over to face off with Plug's own heavyweight institution Twisted! And topping the bill is none to the than man of the moment Jason herd.
As one part of chart topping legends Herd & Fitz, he hit the top ten in 2005 with the huge smash ‘Just can't get enough', one of the biggest groove heavy cuts of the commercial dance spectrum which didn't sacrifice any of it's floor filling status on the more discerning clubs in favour of it's hooky glory. But Herd is much more than that, releasing a slew of remixes singles on labels like Subliminal, Toolroom, Azuli and East West and balancing a club schedule that takes in Pacha, Godskitchen, Kinky Malinki &b Space.
Having been steeped in dance music from an early age (he was a fresh faced teenager dancing wide eyed in the hacienda) he's still submerged in it indefinitely now, even his studio is encased in the same building that house Manchester superclub Sankeys where Jason frequently plays. Be it big room vocal numbers or stripped back almost minimal grooves Jason is the king, his versatility summarising everything Shuffle and Twisted is about.
In Support comes two of the Afterparty's own deck maestros with Domksi and Bongo Dave strolling up to the Plug decks. As purveyors of fine house music with a 4am tint, they've been the soundtrack of the hedonistic edge of people's evenings for a while, both at the afterparty and at other clubs like Speedqueen, Mission and at top London establishments like Pacha, Turnmills and Ministry of Sound.
