Price: £5.00adv / NUS free before MidnightDoor time: 10.30pmAge: 18+ http://www.myspace.com/utahsaints
They're back. Local heroes, acid house pioneers and sample masters the Utah Saints are coming back to Shuffle for another evening of their riotous party grooves! Back at the forefront c once more thanks to the re-release at the start of the year of their monolithic ‘Something Good' track that cut Kate Bush up to supreme effect, they've recently inked a deal with breakbeat's most seminal record label Fingerlickin to showcase their sound even more. This will see them plying their trade alongside the genre's biggest hitters, not least The Plump DJs, Krafty Kuts and Soul of Man.
Whilst ‘Something Good' put them back under the scrutiny of the pop masses they hadn't failed to remain within the dance music radar. Their hugely successful Sugarbeat club, both in Leeds and in Edinburgh, was a gleeful cacophony of bootlegs and brashy beats, bringing the acid house spirit of genre convergence back to the forefront of music. It's an attitude that makes them perfectly at home at Shuffle, bending the limitations of music and breaking all the rules to deliver dance grooves unregulated by barriers!
On the night support comes for the Saints in the form of LJ freeman, whose party starting skills remain undimmed and the perfect tonic for their rapid-fire tenure. Tom lee also weighs in with his usual party classics.
